ART FOLIO

 In art, I have been working on my art folio for photography. At this time, I am currently stuck on the placement and the construction of my folio. Here is a screenshot of my digital folio.

Brainstorm:

Statement - In the ' I am home ' scene, the shallow focus is used effectively to guide the viewers' attention.

E - A student stands and reads from his journal about being evicted from his home. Shallow focus is used to show the emotions of the speaker as well as those listening to him.

Audience x - This makes the audience feel sad for the reader because he had a hard life. The shallow focus is used to show his emotions as he reads.

Director x - The director did this to show the class has become united and a safe, welcoming place. We see the class around him focus and then we see their reactions in shallow focus.

Series and Sequences in Level 2 art

 In art, we've recently learnt about the connections between different images in a folio.

Here is an example of it.

These images that have been put together works well as they have been connected together by the kaupapa (theme) of this folio. These were mostly combined together by the use of the monochromatic idea in the images.

Personal Description of George Silk's art work

In art, we art tasked to do research on different artists that are traditional, contemporary of one from Aotearoa. We are asked to write a personal description of their artwork.

This is my personal description about his artwork: 

This is the original photograph of a cow taken by George silk.

Subject matter and Kaupapa (theme)

These artwork shows different themes from each artist. These themes are represented by the artwork itself.

2.1 Mood-board ( Cityscapes/Urban World)

 

For level 2 Art, we were doing some research on different artists and putting them all in a mood-board. The Cityscape category is divided into three (Contemporary, Traditional & Aotearoa)

Static image

 

In English, we have been learning about Visual Language Features. For the past weeks, we were creating a static image and we are to choose on what topic we want to create or static image on.

In my static image, I chose to put a red background because it makes the things in the foreground pop. I put Johnny Cash at the centre because he is the dominant feature. He is facing June carter and the musical notes because he chose to be with his music and June carter. I placed a fire at the bottom of the picture to give meaning that if johnny cash fails to balance, he will suffer. I blurred out the silhouette of his family because johnny cash turned his back from his family. Also, I put a line because johnny cash is walking the line.

I am going to have the layout in this way because… Johnny Cash is the dominant character in the text so he should be in the middle.
