Blogpost 9
In Art, we are tasked to create or fake a darkroom in class. With this task, we try to mimic the vintage look of images using photoshop.
Here is my attempt at trying to mimic this look.
Classics
What is propaganda?
For me, propaganda is a type of power misuse to try and force people to believe some things which in some cases aren't true.
Who was Aristobulus?
Aristobulus was the first Hasmonean king of Judea. He was a king from 104 BCE until his death in 103 BCE.

Blog post five
In art, we are tasked to choose one traditional, one contemporary and one Aotearoa artist. These are the artists I have chosen.
In this image, Andre has used a monochromatic colour profile in his image. The use of this technique has greatly improved the dramatics of the photograph.
For this image, the artist has chosen a vibrant colour for the edited look of the final image.

Alexander the great
In classics, we have started with the topic of Alexander the Great. However, my knowledge of Alexander the Great is limited. That is why I have made some notes about Alexander the Great.
Here are my notes about him:
Alexander the Great was considered great at the time because he was one of the greatest militaries at the time. His father Philip the second was the one that introduced and taught him in the military. In addition to that, He has named 20 cities after himself. Not only that but he was also tutored by one of the greatest Phillisoper of the time Aristotel in literature.

Steps in art for panel 1
This is my first draft for my folio. However, I think it doesn't work quite well.
Peer Critique
Today in art, we have gathered together to critique and give feedforward on each other's photographs.
For this critique, I have made some notes. These notes are:
- Try to look at different artists like David Hillard, William Eggleston and Henri Cartier-Bresson.
- Look into geometrics eg. shape/line.
- Consider adding abstract patterns.
- Connection of lines within the photograph.
- Start with black and white and try to introduce colour.
- Look at building shadows which can create interesting patterns.
- Try to look at the different textures of the buildings.
- Add contrast to the images.
