Gymnastics

In PE. we have been doing different aspects of gymnastics like bars, trampoline, floor and many more. We are to do some sequences on different things. I chose the bar and trampoline.

Land Yatch (Wind Racers)

In Science, we are going to be building a land yacht and have a competition of who makes the fastest land yacht (Wind Racers).

Aim: To successfully create a fast land yacht and to win the competition.

Method:

• Make a sail out of paper.
• Make a sharp point at the front to make it aerodynamic.
• Using a cardboard piece attach it from the front up to the sail.
• Make the same sharp point using paper at the time as well.
• Attach them together to the frame using sellotape.
• Design your Land yacht is you desired.

Result:

=19.8/15.1

The incident of the festival helped me to understand the idea of the violence is ineffective because usually, it doesn't help the situation at all - it only makes the situation worse. we see this in the text when the narrator writes " Please" Zu steps forward. "Don't move!" the commander shouts nack, pulling out his sword. "Search us if you must," Zu responds. "We will agree to an examination. But please, lower your weapons" She raises her hands in surrender. "I don't want anyone to get hur-" It happens too fast. Too fast. One moment Zu stands. The next, an arrow pierces through her gut.

For completely no reason, they shot Zulaika right in her stomach, a child, an innocent child. Raising her hand in surrender paid back the opposite, her death. What's a child got to do with any of this, her magic can't even do any harm. What's worse is that she was killed by an army full of adults.

Moreover, the incident of the festival helped me to understand the idea of the violence wrong and ineffective because it is wrong, too many people died and many people have to sacrifice their lives just to let other people live, also it only makes the majis angrier and makes their lives more miserable

In social studies, we have been looking at pyramids and how they have been built.

During ancient Egypt times, the Egyptians discovered how to make a paper as well as how to write in the form of symbols and most importantly, they discovered mathematics which changed the evolution of mankind. Mathematics helped the Egyptians to gain knowledge about structures especially geometry where they found out that a triangle is the strongest shape. Mathematics is one of the most important discoveries of the Egyptians and is still being used up to today which helps us a lot in our everyday lives. Until today pyramids still stand out among the deserts of Egypt. In conclusion, if Egyptians haven't built the pyramids, we would never be able to build skyscrapers up until our modern day.

Are students addicted to their phones?

Most of the students nowadays are different, in fact very different. An example of this is students not participating in sports or other physical activity, students are also being lazy to do work and are more focused on fidgeting and playing on their phones. This is a problem because students are supposed to be the hope of the nation to make our world better. Now, if students don't stop being addicted to their phones, how else can they be the hope of the nation if they continued being focused on their phone. In conclusion, students addicted to phones are hazardous and harmful to society. If we don't act now, our society is in big trouble.

It is about how technology has changed and has taken over the knowledge of mankind and improved it.

How electric cars work

How tesla cars work?

 Tesla is a big brand which makes powerful electric vehicles that were sold mostly in the U.S. with the founders Martin Eberhard, JB Straubel, Marc Tarpenning, Ian Wright and Elon Musk being the chief founder of Tesla inc.

They have a sell series of different cars like the model s, model x, model 3, roadster and the upcoming model y. But they didn't just stick on car production, in fact, they are trying to make houses solar powered which is why they sell solar panels that act as a roof.

In cars, you have to have accessories to right? which is why tesla sells its very own car accessories, they sell fast chargers attached to the home to rapidly charge your beloved car, they sell also cargo mats to add protection to your cargo space, as well weather mats and many more.

Now, how does the electric car work?

Firstly, the battery. Tesla uses a certain type of battery which is named Lithium-ion, they used this type of battery to make the car operate longer for a short charge time and they use this also because this has a high energy density to produce a large amount of voltage.

Secondly, it is paired with a motor which runs at the same time instead of lagging to give a more robust and powerful motor. (This powerful motor is paired with another powerful motor) depending on the model you get which ranges from 70 to 100/ P100d. D stands for dual, so whenever you see a tesla which has a D on its model it has a Dual motor, therefore fast acceleration.

Thirdly, these motors if are used wrong will drain a lot of energy from the battery, which is why tesla came up with a technology to use deceleration into power. This means whenever the car is decelerating, the brake force is collected and stored back into the battery to make the car run efficiently. Through software, tesla is able to have an option of power-saving which limits the car's performance to save power, which is in my opinion pretty clever of tesla.

In conclusion, I think Tesla cars are pretty smart and their cars are environmentally friendly to help take care of nature. 

The Power of One Essay

Last Term we've studied some film techniques and watched the movie The Power of One and write an essay about it, so here's my short writing about it.

The Power of One

During the harrowing time of apartheid, a lot of injustices were served to the black population of South Africa. In the film The Power of One, directed by John Avildsen, the scene where Sergeant Borman forces Geel Piet to eat donkey excrement paints a vivid picture of the ill-treatment towards black people. The following techniques are used in this scene: diegetic sound, camera angles and shots, and dialogue. These film techniques helped convey this important idea and caused the scene to have a strong impact on the audience. 

Firstly, John Avildsen makes a decision of putting a piece of background music on top of the foreground’s diegetic music as it uplifts the atmosphere in contrast with the scene. He did this to show how Black Africans are contented on what they have and be happy about it. This creates a very atmospheric scene and has a good balance that makes the film interesting.

Feedback to myself:

One thing that I am proud of in this essay is I started writing my essay even though I wasn't here most of the time.

Next time, I could work on this essay at home as well as using online tools like Grammarly and read-write to proofread my essay.

One thing that I enjoyed learning about the film was the different techniques because I didn't know that there are many more film techniques than I thought. What I found Challenging about learning this film is that as soon as we finished watching the film, we are asked to write an essay. One thing I learned that I will use the next time I write an essay is to know all the aspect of the task that you are writing about so that you'll know what to include onto your essay. What I am wondering about is how I could be more provident in composing my writing.

Boomerangs

In Social Studies, we have been doing some painting onto our boomerangs.

1. What is the purpose of this activity?
This activities purpose is to have a deeper knowledge about Australias Aboriginals' traditions.

Green - It symbolizes the forests and all of its trees and greenery.

A message I take from this scene is saran blanks the memories of people like inan so they become a "shell" of the person who they were.

Like in a war, people who fight for their country are like a "shell" because they don't hate the person they're killing but they kill them anyway because they are fighting for their country and don't have any choice.

I think people have choices, but it doesn't mean that they always have a choice, like the soldiers who fight for their country.

Metals And Oxygen

Aim: To make a metal oxide and observe the difference in properties of the product compared to the reactants.

Equipment:

• A piece of magnesium 
• Bunsen burner
• Safety glasses
• Metal scissors tongs.

Method:

1. Light your bunsen burner.
2. Hold your piece of magnesium in the scissor tongs. Ensure you are holding onto the very tip of the magnesium.
3. Place the other end of the magnesium into the Bunsen flame (at the top of the blue flame)
4. When the magnesium begins to burn, do not look directly at it, as the light emitted can permanently damage your eyes.

Results:

The magnesium strip emitted a white light that was very bright for at least 5 seconds.

Discussion:

The magnesium strip took quite a while to burn, but as soon as it burns, it produced a bright white light.

Music reggae

On this next project, we did some reggae presentation and reggae research.

On our reggae presentation, I did the piano part, however, I just did the chord part.

Neutralisation

Aim: To observe a neutralisation reaction.

Equipment: Test tube rack, test tube, 1 mol L-1 Na2CO3 (sodium carbonate), 1 mol L-1 HCI (hydrochloric acid), dropper or dropper bottle, universal indicator solution.

Method:

1. Add approximately 1-2 mL of NaCO and place the test tube into the test tube rack. Add 3-5 drops of Universal indicator solution.
2. Using a dropper bottle, add HCI drop by drop. Be extra careful because adding even a small amount of acid can mean you'll miss the neutralisation point.

Results:

Discussion:

As we were doing our experiment, our work succeeded and turned neutral, as we finished our neutralisation, we tried to mix some things altogether, as a result, we came up with a rainbow-like effect into a single Testube.

Making an Indicator

Aim: To make acid-base indicators using everyday substances.

Equipment:

• Red cabbage
• a Beaker
• Water
• Tripod

Method:

1. Chop the cabbage into small pieces until you have enough to fill 2 cups.
2. Place the cabbage in a large beaker and add water to cover the cabbage.
3. Boil over a bunsen burner for at least ten minutes for the colour to leach out of the cabbage.
4. Filter out the plant material to obtain a red-purple-bluish colour liquid. This liquid is at about pH7. ( The exact colour you get depends on the pH of the water.)
5. Place in a small beaker and leave to one side.

Results:

Discussion:

After we boiled the cabbage, Using a pipet we dropped a few cabbage indicator unto the spotting tile, we did the same thing with the other indicators like tea, cranberry, turmeric and beetroot. We then dropped a few HCI (acid) into some of the indicators. While on the rest we used NaOH(Alkali-base)

Conclusion:

We successfully made our indicators and came up with a result for each one.

SEXXY paragraph continuation

In English, we've been doing some SEXXY paragraph practice. Today, we're doing the continuation of our practice.

The Film aspect Two shot was used effectively to illustrate the scenes' principle, pride and fear. For

example, we can see this by distinguishing the lighting - low key, as well as the drastic difference in their facial expression. Avildsen did this to Portray the emotions of Geel Piet as Sergeant Borman Threatens him. This made the audience feel nerve-racking and worried about Geel Piet's Situation. This aspect can be contrasted to the scene where Sergeant Bormann had his batton on his side, it has a similar effect to the audience.

Power of one SEXXY paragraph

In English, we watch the film Power of One, after we watched it we've been practising our SEXXY paragraph for the past few days.




In the film Power of One, the aspect of long shot was used cleverly, to portray the scenes' essence which is fear. For instance, we see the baton of sergeant Bormann hanging on his side on the foreground while we see some prisoners, Geel Piet and Pk on the background. The director did this to emphasise the guard's power and what he could do to Geel Piet. This made the audience feel the suspense and the freight of both Geel piet and Pk. This aspect can be juxtaposed to the scene where it shows Maria's father's house. It shows the extreme difference between the slums and the mansion
